1. Arrival at Padang Airport
The only entry point to the Mentawai Islands is Padang Airport (PDG).
Currently, the best way to reach Padang is by flying from Jakarta with Garuda, Citilink, or Pelita Air, or from Kuala Lumpur with AirAsia.
2. Fast Ferry from Padang to the Mentawai Islands (Tua Pejat)
The ferry departs from Padang to the Mentawai Islands at 10 am on Sundays and Mondays, and at 7 am on Wednesdays and Fridays. We recommend that our guests arrive in Padang one day before the ferry departure.
For your return trip, please note that the Mentawai fast ferry leaves the islands every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 3 pm, arriving in Padang around 7 pm. Allow approximately 1 hour for the car ride from the ferry terminal to the airport. Proper planning will ensure a smooth transition from the islands to your departure point.
3. Transfer from Tua Pejat to Aloita Resort
Once in Tua Pejat, our staff will pick you up and take you to Aloita Resort via our private speedboat, a 15-minute journey.
You can either organize your own transfer to Tua Pejat, where our staff will greet you and transfer you by speedboat to Aloita, or you can book the Transfer Package and let us handle everything for you.
1. Guests who choose our Transfer Package will be picked up at Padang Airport and transported to their selected hotel for an overnight stay. Please note that accommodation in Padang is not included in the Transfer Package, giving you the flexibility to choose your preferred hotel.
2. The following day, our staff will collect you from your hotel and take you to the port for the Fast Ferry to the Mentawai Islands. The ferry ride takes approximately 3.5 hours, and your ferry tickets are included.
For the Mentawai Fast Ferry, guests are permitted a 15 kg luggage allowance plus one board bag weighing up to 15 kg for surfers. Porters will be available to assist with luggage handling.
3. Upon arrival in Tua Pejat, our staff will meet you and transfer you to the Resort via our private speedboat, a 15-minute journey.
4. When your stay concludes, we will ensure a smooth return journey and make sure you arrive on time for your flight.
Our Transfer Package includes the Mentawai Fast Ferry, providing a convenient and reliable mode of travel to the islands. However, if you prefer alternative options, we are happy to accommodate your needs.

Our resort is equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit and basic medicines, while our experienced surf guides are skilled in treating minor injuries like reef cuts. Although the islands are generally safe and free from major health concerns like malaria, international medical insurance is highly recommended for all guests and mandatory for surfers.
2. Tsunami Preparedness: Given the region’s seismic activity, your safety is paramount in the event of an earthquake or potential tsunami. Our resort is situated near high ground, easily reachable within minutes via a marked evacuation route. We also have a warning system in place to notify us of any potential threats, allowing us to take swift action to ensure the safety of our guests.
3. Travel Insurance: For your peace of mind, travel insurance with medical evacuation coverage is mandatory for all surfers and highly recommended for all other guests. In case of an emergency, we will assist you in coordinating with your insurance provider to ensure you receive prompt and efficient care.
4. Families: The Mentawai Islands offer a safe, tranquil environment for families, free from health risks like malaria. Our resort is equipped with a well-stocked first aid kit and basic medicines, and for more serious medical concerns, the hospital in Tua Pejat is just a 15-minute boat ride away, providing additional support for your family's safety and well-being.
